Some example video clips Some example video clipsIn clip one a locomotive with Hybrid drive is demonstrated. The locomotive in on paper and has its wheels lifted off of one rail. Bell whistle and motor control arr all demonstrated.
In clip two a locomotive with Hybrid Drive is shown in normal operation. This locomotive has one extra interesting feature. While the motor and sound system have a battery backup, the headlight is wired to a rail common. When the headlight is on the track power is coming from the track. When the headlight is off the decoder has switched to its back-up power source.
Notice that the headlight blinks. If a normal decoder was used at best it would loose all the packets transmitted while the headlight was off and would normally reset as well causing erratic operation.
